Step up your egg game with this easy-peasy souffle omelette recipe
If you're tired of whipping up the same old sunny side up or scrambled eggs the past few months, Kara David's egg-venture on "ECQusina" might be exactly what you need.
The "Pinas Sarap" host shared an easy-peasy souffle omelette recipe, as well as a quick guide to making a perfect mushroom omelette.
A souffle omelette sounds pretty fancy, but you'll only need two eggs, salt, oil, butter and a wire whisk (you can also electric mixer).
Kara started by separating the egg whites from their yolks.
She then whisked the egg whites until they were nice and fluffy. At this point, homecooks should know: Patience is a virtue.
Mix your yolks together in a separate bowl with some salt and gently fold them into your egg whites.
Be careful not to take the air out of the whites while you mix.
Pour the mixture into a pan with oil and butter, then put the lid in. Kara said it's also better to pre-heat your in a pan so the souffle mix stays fluffy.
When the time is right, just take a spatula and fold the the souffle in half -- just like a regular omelette!
"ECQusina" with Kara David is a weekly show on Facebook live where she helps her fellow homecooks make the most out of their daily grocery store items during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In this week's episode, Kara mentions that eggs are not such a bad choice these days, especially since they're rich in selenium which helps the immune system.
"It's also good for weight loss," she adds. "Pag kumain ka ng itlog, 'yung protein niya, nakakabusog. Hindi ka na magsa-snack!"
