FATHER’S DAY

Surprise your dad this weekend with Chef Jose Sarasola’s meaty meatball kaldereta

Do you want to try cooking for your dad on Father’s Day?

Chef Jose Sarasola showed “Unang Hirit” viewers Friday how to make meatball kaldereta, and it might just be the thing to satisfy your dad’s craving for meaty goodness this weekend.

You’ll need to prepare the following ingredients:

Ground pork
Ground beef
Garlic
Onions
Salt and pepper
Carrots
Oil
Tomato paste
Liver spread
Tomato Sauce
Cheese
Pickle Relish
Potato
Mixed bell pepper
Water

Place the meat in a large bowl along with carrots, onion, garlic, salt and pepper, then mix it using your hands.

Once the batch is ready, it’s time to roll the meatballs into the size and shape you want. Fry them until they’re nice and brown and set them aside.

For the sauce, you will need a large pot.

Start by sautéing some garlic and onions, then add liver spread, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, and cheese.

Leave it to boil for about 15 minutes before popping in the meatballs. After that, it’s time to add pickle relish, potatoes, carrots, and bell pepper.

Make sure to give the meatballs some time to soak in all the flavor before doing a final taste and serving. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
