Volunteers make tomato jam to help Ifugao farmers amid oversupply
Farmers in the Ifugao province were faced with an oversupply of tomatoes due to travel and transportation restrictions amid the pandemic.
To help them and minimize food wastage, the Ifugao State University (IFSU) held a three-day training session to help some members of their local communities learn how to make tomato jam.
According to the IFSU, participants who joined the session last June 12, 13 and 15 were able to make 136 bottles of tomato jam, which they sold at P100 each.

IFSU said the participants also conducted training in their own barangays and shared what they learned from the three-day activity.
Volunteers produced 400 bottles of tomato jam for selling to augment donations to the local farmers.
