Carla Abellana's Holy Smokes restaurant closes in Poblacion, relocates to QC

Poblacion's Holy Smokes, famed for their fall-of-the-bone meats, has permanently closed its doors in the hip Makati district.

But not all is sad news as co-owner Carla Abellana announced he restaurant has relocated to Katipunan Ave., Quezon City amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"It is with sadness that we bid farewell to our home for the last 4 years in Poblacion," Carla said on Instagram, Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, this pandemic has left us with no choice but to give up the space and relocate to a cheaper and smaller location. It is the only way we can stay afloat and survive this difficult time."

Carla remained grateful that her staff and their families are safe, and that she continued to receive the support from her regular customers.

She thanked both the staff for all their sacrifices and the customers for the trust and support they've given to Holy Smokes.

Looking at better times, Carla posted a series of photos featuring some of milestones "Holy Smokes" attained — from getting featured in Taste Buddies and numerous other publications to serving former President Noynoy Aquino.

"Despite many challenges, we are still here and our commitment to serve you good quality and safe food still remains,' the actress shared.

She added, "We have been so truly blessed to have you all by our side, and we hope you'll continue to support us in our new home."

"Holy Smokes" will be located at the Popup on Katipunan Avenue, and will be open for takeouts and deliveries from Thursdays to Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

"We look forward to be able to offer al fresco dining in our new location in the near future," Carla added. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
