7 Valentine's Day outdoor date ideas
If you're going to celebrate Valentine's Day, make sure to celebrate it safely. COVID-19 is still out there, and if anything, you don't want to risk your loved ones.
Private dining options are the best recourse — it's not only safe but with just you and your date taking up the whole restaurant, it's pretty romantic, too.
If you and your S.O. are not there yet, then this list of outdoor date ideas is for you. To give you a nice lay of the land and see the scale of options, we combined affordable choices and impressive (and steep, we know) hotel dining.
Happy Valentine's Day!
1. Go for a casual sunset date
Sofitel Manila's Food Truck will make for a casual and fun date. For the Valentine weekend, its Sunset Bar will be elevating its menu up a notch to include foie gras sliders, soft-shell crab tacos, chicken euros, designer cronuts, and the list goes on. Of course, wine, beer, sparkling continue to be free-flowing.

2. Attend a drive-in concert
KZ Tandingan and Rico Blanco will be headlining a drive-in concert at BGC on the eve of Valentine's Day. The concert, happening at the 30th Street Open Carpark in BGC Corporate Center, will start at 6pm. Each car is allowed four persons, so yes here's another double date idea. Just a tip: The concert is on a first-come first-serve basis. You can exchange P2,600 worth of receipts for a ticket.
3. Go to a drive-in movie

"Five Feet Apart" (Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson) will screen February 12 and 14 (6pm). "I Still Believe" will screen on February 13 (6pm) and February 14 (8:30pm) "The Girl in the Orange Dress" will screen on February 12 (8:30pm). "Belle Douler" will screen February 13 (8:30pm).
4. Dine in floating water cabanas
As though the five-course omakase dinner of Nobu Manila isn't enough, the world-renowned Japanese-Peruvian restaurant at City of Dreams will let you dine in the restaurant's impressive floating water cabanas. The set menu comes with a complimentary glass fo champagne, and consists of Nobu Canape Selection of oysters and tuna, Sushi Cups of seasonal selection of toro, uni, and wagyu, sea bass tempura, Sous Vide Australian Tenderloin, and dessert. The Valentine omakase will set you back P10,000 nett for two persons.

5. Book a private gazebo dinner
If water cabanas are a bit too much, Edsa Shangri-La is offering an outdoor private gazebo dinner right smack in the hotel's lush tropical gardens. It will definitely make you feel like (a) you were out of the city and (b) you had the place all to yourself.

It starts with a welcome cocktail at the Lobby Lounge and will have you walk through a pathway filled with candles and petals. The main affair is a five-course dinner for two and comes with champagne and a dedicated butler. It starts at P27,597 for two for the whole month of February. Not only is a four-course couple set menu available at The Marriott Cafe this Valentine weekend. It's a four-course set with unlimited French Legrls Oysters and a glass of Shiraz Cabernet, Chardonnay or sparkling wine — with an option for al fresco dining. ServSave-certified chefs and staff will bring your meal directly to your table. It's pretty affordable at P4,200 nett for a couple. Available for dinner service between 6-9pm on February 13 and 14.

7. Have a sort-of-picnic in the BGC 'garden'
The BGC ampitheater will be turned into a lush garden for al fresco dining on February 13 and 14. Order takeaway from any BHS eatery or you can even scan the QR codes available to order and arrange for pickup or delivery, and enjoy the breeze, the view, the food, and the company. Pro-tip: Come early evening on February 14 because BGC will be having a fireworks show at 7pm.
