Frustrated plantita bakes cupcakes inspired by plants

A baker used her failed dream of being an ultimate "plantita" as an inspiration to create cupcakes inspired by various plants.

According to Katrina Son's report on "24 Oras," Monday, Lanie Sebuc-Baluis  got interested in baking after watching several YouTube videos during the pandemic.

"I spent a lot of time watching and I thought they were easy but when I tried to do it, I had a hard time," she said in a mix of English and Filipino.

She tried multiple times but didn't give up until she got the right consistency for her sweets' frostings and showed it to her sibling, who posted her work on social media.

Lanie then got her first customer and has to gotten plenty of orders since then.

She said she's happy that she is now known for her plantita-themed cupcakes, as she is a frustrated plantita herself.

"In my entire life, I couldn't get a plant to survive so I said my being a plantita can only be done in cupcakes. That's where I can give them life," she said.

Because her business turned out to be a boom, she now also does birthday cakes. She advised everyone to never let their dreams die—in any way.

"Don't be down. If they want, take it slowly because bit by bit, you can do it in God's will."
