This Pinoy 'karenderya' has people in Texas lining up
A Filipino "karenderya" is getting lots of attention in Princeton, Texas.
According to a report on "State of the Nation," several people have been lining up to eat at a simple outdoor restaurant run by Pinoy businesswoman Josephine Cook and her Japanese-American husband, Allen.
They serve a variety of Pinoy comfort food like lechon, banana cue and leche flan and offer a charming Filipino dining experience, complete with karaoke.
Josephine said she came up with the outdoor karinderya concept after she noticed that there were a lot of indoor and air-conditioned restaurants in their area.
When asked what the "secret ingredient" was to their success, Josephine said she simply wants to see a smile on her customers' faces.
"Yung ngingiti din sila kasi ngingiti ka," she told GMA News.

"Kahit na pagod ka, ngumiti ka parin kasi [kapag] naghahanap buhay ka, gusto mo 'yung hanapbuhay mo umunlad, ngumiti ka," she added.
