What lucky food should you serve on New Year's Eve?

We all know having 12 round fruits on New Year's Eve can usher in good luck, but according to Feng Shui consultant Johnson Chua, it' not only round fruits that can bring good luck in the new year.

"Lahat ng prutas, pampaswerte," he said. Even bananas, which attracts gold, he says on "Unang Hirit" Friday.

"Yung 12 fruits, para sa 12 months pero ang gusto natin is to balance yung energy of the year. A year has five elements so have five fruits to control the five elements of the year," he suggests.

You can have three pieces of a smaller fruit like orange and a piece of a larger fruit like pineapple, but keep them at an odd number, Johnson reminds.

You may want to serve noodles too, to symbolise long life. The longer the noodles, the longer the life. If you're serving pasta, please don't break the noodles. "We don't advice cutting the noodles," Johnson says.

And finally, fish. says the feng shui consultant, fish symbolises abundance. "Kailangan buo ang isda. 'Wag niyo i-chop."

So there you have it: fruits, noodles, and fish!
