All the lucky food you can put on your Media Noche table for a better 2023

Who doesn't want want a better, luckier 2023?

On "Unang Hirit" Friday, Feng Shui consultant Johnson Chua shared a few food items you can put on your Media Noche table to attract luck, prosperity, and togetherness in the coming year.

1. Long food things — like pancit, pasta, misua or maybe even a baguette! Long food represents long life.

2. Anything round. According to Chua, round-shaped food represents the wheel of life. "Parang gulong ng buhay. Gusto natin, smooth sailing, walang rough roads, dire-direcho lang," he said. While round fruits have long been popular, consider as well things like donuts, hopia, quezo de bola, and ensaymada, too.

3. Kakanin. Or anything sticky, really, because sticky food symbolizes families that stick together. When eaten with family, it means you and your family will be closer than ever.

4. Seafood. Chua says seafood represents water, and in Feng Shui, water represents money and abundance. So have lots of seafood come midnight of December 31/January 1. Chua warns however to serve whole fish. "Wag fish fillet, or mga naka chop-chop na. Kailangan buo para yung abundance in life, buo ring dumadating," he explains.

5. Green leafy vegetables. In Feng Shiu green is representative of wood. "Puro usbong, maraming growth, prosperous," Chua says. So make sure you have a salad there somewhere. Besides, that attracts good health too, and good health is always lucky.
