Chef Tatung airs frustrations about unfortunate incident with customers: ‘They made an issue out of everything’

Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou took to social media to detail an unfortunate incident with a group of customers in one of his restaurants.

On Facebook, the Filipino celebrity chef said the customers were a group of four who “were a fuzzy bunch from the onset.”

According to Tatung, the customers “made an issue out of everything,” from the restaurant’s house music, the staff’s service, the food and drinks, and even the gender-neutral comfort rooms.

“We always try to do our best all the time and accommodate all requests when reasonable,” Tatung said. “But they verbally attacked our staff.”

“They [dragged] my name into the conversation (kilala daw nila ako) and said not-so-nice things for other guests to hear,” he added. “Really sad.”

The chef behind concepts Lore in BGC, Azadore, Talisay, and Pandan Asian Café in Quezon City, said the customers walked out “without paying.”

In the comments section, Tatung said he had reviewed the CCTV and saw "they had a leisurely lunch, staying close to an hour in the resto, even ordered additional rice."

"Waiters checked on them every few minutes without any commotion until it was time to pay. I really don't understand what was going on in their heads," he said.

“Kakalungkot lang [na] need pa [nila] mang-bastos,” he said in the comments section.

Aside from managing his restaurants, Chef Tatung is a TV and social media personality.

He has a YouTube channel, previously named Simpol, where he shares his recipes and conversations with his fellow chefs and food enthusiasts.
