Plant-based, guilt-free merienda? Check out this Ortigas hotel's high tea spread
Merienda is big among Filipinos with kakanin, street food, various bread things and chips as top of mind.
But plant-based merienda? We're not quite there yet.
Enter Nostalgia Lounge and Bar at Joy~Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila. The restaurant inside the Ortigas hotel is putting plant-based dishes at the forefront to cater to those who are making the switch to a healthier lifestyle.
Among their offerings are the Savory Greens and Tea Dreams, a high-tea spread featuring delicious plant-based delights sure to satisfy your merienda cravings.
Highlights from the menu include the caramelized eggplant and onion tart with goji berry curd, a savory treat that pairs perfectly with the refreshing flavors of the vegan club, featuring carrot bacon and faux eggs.
For those with a heartier appetite, the kidney bean and quinoa sliders with eggless mayo and pickled radish offer a delightful blend of textures on the palate.
No afternoon tea would be complete without a selection of sweet treats, of which Nostalgia has plenty. You can savor banana scones with soy vegan cottage cheese, sous vide rose-infused watermelon pops, and plant-based brownies with faux crème Chantilly from the high tea set.
The Savory Greens and Tea Dreams set is priced at P1,400 for two persons with a choice of coffee or tea.
Joy~Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila is located at 17 ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
