Helm's Chef Josh Boutwood plans on opening a Spanish restaurant as his next venture

After his restaurant Helm got awarded with two Michelin Stars, what can we look forward to next with Chef Josh Boutwood?

If his interview on “Power Talks with Pia Arcangel” last May is any indication, Boutwood will open a Spanish restaurant next.

In "Power Talks," he revealed that most of his education and young adulthood actually took place in Spain.

“And people say, you know, ‘Oh, I bet the food was amazing.’ I'm at an age again when I didn't appreciate food. I appreciated partying and socialization,” he said.

“I regret now not taking advantage of the amazing cuisine Spain had to offer,” he added.

During that period, Boutwood was able to learn Spanish and added that he and his family “had a wonderful life in Spain. It was really good.”

Aside from Spain, Chef Boutwood also lived in Boracay from the ages of seven to 11 years.

Helm by Chef Boutwood was awarded two Michelin Stars at the inaugural Michelin Guide Ceremony: Manila and Environs & Cebu 2026 on Thursday night at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Newport World Resorts.

It received the highest distinction of the evening.

Aside from Helm, eight Philippine restaurants received one Michelin Star each.

Meanwhile, here is the full list of the recipients of Michelin Selected, Bib Gourmand, and special awards.  —JCB, GMA Integrated News
