R'Bonney Gabriel prepares Filipino lumpia for Christmas

R'Bonney Gabriel celebrated Christmas like a true-blue Filipino.

On Instagram, the Miss Universe 2022 shared a candid video of herself cooking lumpia for their family Christmas dinner.

In the video, R'Bonney said her brother asked her to air-fry his frozen lumpia, but she decided to cook it the classic way: deep-fried.

Aside from the already prepared lumpia, she also made more from scratch and wrapped them herself.

R'Bonney then went around asking how the lumpia tasted, and her Filipino father said, "Very good!"

In the end, R'Bonney shared that she hid a secret stash for herself but later found out that someone had eaten the lumpia she had set aside.

"I didn't try the lumpia, but apparently it was a hit," she said.

In November, R'Bonney reached one million followers on Instagram after Miss Universe president Raul Rocha compared her follower count to other Miss Universe titleholders, including reigning queen Fatima Bosch.

In October, R'Bonney went home to Texas after living in the Philippines in 2024.

During her time in the Philippines, she explored her Filipino heritage by trying Pinoy street food and practicing her "tawad" game in Divisoria, as well as riding a jeepney and a motorcycle taxi.
