Enthusiasts all over the world celebrated the International Day of Yoga on Tuesday, June 21. The ancient Indian practice has become a habit for millions who want to get in shape both mentally and physically.
Yoga events were also held in several countries in the days leading up to Tuesday. According to a report on Agence France-Presse, for instance, thousands of yoga fans gathered in New York's Times Square on Monday to mark the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.
During the 14th edition of the annual event, yogis transformed the famous intersection in one of the world's busiest cities into a huge outdoor yoga lesson surrounded by cars, construction and the hustle and bustle of Manhattan.
