Five beauty tips from Marian Rivera
"Mirror, mirror on the wall...what should I do to my face today?"
For those staring blankly at the aisles exploding with different shades of an overwhelming amount of beauty products, actress and Avon's latest endorser Marian Rivera has a few makeup wisdom she shared with the press during the launch of the brand's newest makeup line, Indulgence.
Here's a few things you can learn from one of the most beautiful faces in local showbiz.
Two washes a day keeps the zits away
If there's any advice that Rivera wants to impart to her daughter (and all of the women out there), it's that washing your face twice daily is important. Washing your face should be part of your morning routine and you definitely, definitely should go to bed with a freshly washed face.
"Kung hindi naman kailangan, okay lang na walang makeup"
The self-confessed tomboy in her early days admitted that it took a while for her to play around with her look and she still believes that if it's not necessary, walking out of your house without putting on any makeup is no big deal.
"Lipstick lang, okay na"
If you're not going to appear on the red carpet (this does not apply to Alicia Keys, who appears onstage sans makeup), just put on lipstick and you're good to go. No need to stress out on figuring out choosing between liquid or powder foundation. Putting pressure on yourself like that might just lead to break outs!
Wear red whenever you want
Who says you can't wear red lipstick? According to Rivera, the best time for her to wear the bright shade is when she's breastfeeding her baby: "Para kita ako agad ni Zia!" The lesson there is don't be afraid to feel and be beautiful. You can do it all the time!
Take care of yourself
Rivera is a film believer that if you take care of yourself, other people will follow your lead. "The more na inaalagaan mo sarili mo at nakikita ng ibang tao, the more na walang dahilan para hindi ka nila i-admire at mahalin."
As the great Whitney Houston once sang, learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all. And when you're loved, you're beautiful.
Before we forget: She wears pink lipstick on dates. A tomboy who wants to feel dainty? It's all good. You define you. — VVP, GMA News
