5-year-old born with 2 brains, 4 legs, 4 hands hopes to be able to walk one day
She was born with two brains, four hands and four arms and sits in a wheelchair, but five-year-old Ayalisse "Aya" Cuales never loses hope that someday she will be able to walk.
"Jesus, sana tulungan mo ko. Sana paglaki ko...makalakad na po ko," Aya prayed in a 24 Oras report by Rida Reyes.
The child also had words of comfort for her parents: "Papa, Mama, everything's gonna be all right," she said.
Aya was born with the rare condition of having a parasitic twin accompanied by multiple congenital anomalies, and is only the second person in the Philippines to be recorded as having this condition.
Felson, a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW), admitted that their family has gone into huge debt to finance Aya's medications and series of operations.
Aya's latest operation was a success, with her excess hands and legs removed.
Doctors, however, said they cannot remove her other brain as it may lead to her death.
Aya will still face four operations to remove her additional cervix and to fix her spinal column.
Those who wish to offer financial aid to the Cuales family may may deposit money into a BDO (Banco de Oro) bank account in Aya's name:
