Don't use whitening cream on your pimple marks, doctor says

Pimples are terrible, and pimple marks, moreso.

If you're trying to get rid of those pesky pimple marks, it's easy to think whitening creams are the best solution.

But they're not.

According to demartologist Dr. Jean Marquez, it's better to avoid using whitening cream for pimple marks because it may cause more harm.

In a recent Pinoy MD episode, she said, "'Wag ka munang bumili ng whitening creams lalo na may mga whitening creams na lalong nakaka-trigger ng acne."

The safest option, she said, is to shift to a mild facial wash and to use sun block as protection from the sun so the pimple marks don't get darker.

According to Marquez, there are so many treatments and options for removing pimple mark nowadays. Patients should just visit their dermatologist to find out the best cream or treatment suitable for them.
