3 tips on overcoming your fear, according to the 'Born to be Wild' hosts
From handling big pythons to diving into the sea for an encounter with sharks, Dr. Nielsen Donato and Dr. Ferds Recio, hosts of "Born to be Wild" know a thing or two about overcoming your fears.
At their contract renewal with GMA-7 on Wednesday, the two fearless hosts gave tips on overcoming your fear — be it facing a wildlife creature or simply facing your crush.
According to the both of them, it boils down to knowing what you have to do and knowing what you're capable of doing.
1. Sometimes, you just have to do it
Recio said that sometimes it boils down to what you have to do.
"You just have to do it, sometimes. You don't have to think about it. You just have to do what you have to do."
2. Calculate risks and know your limits
In all things, calculate your risk and know your limits.
"If you think sa sarili mo na you can't do it, don't; but if sa tingin mo you're equipped enough then go for it," Recio said.
He added, "May mga bagay na kailangan mong gawin pero of course kailangan mo rin pag-isipan."
3. Listen to your team
It doesn't hurt to be open to the suggestions of the people helping you out.
According to Dr. Donato, it's important to rely on your team. "So when we're there we rely on our team, our cameramen, our producers, our researchers. When we're brought to the situation, we wait," he said.
"Hindi kami sugod nang sugod. Minsan aawatin ako ng aming producer. Sometimes they have to pat you on the back and say, 'Hold on. Safety first,'" he added. — LA, GMA News
