The best people with peklat can do is, to improve its appearance.

There are many ways to do that, depending on the type of scar that you have:
- Atrophic scars will have that wounded area of skin look sunken.
- Hypertrophic scars meanwhile are those that make your skin look embossed, as though it was raised.
- Keloid scars, like hypertrophic scars, are also raised but are also bigger than the original injury. “Parang gumagapang,” Marquez said.
- Hypopigmented scars are scars that turn the skin white
- Hyperpigmented scars turn the skin dark.
“Depende sa scar, duon ia-angkop ang treatment,” Marquez said. Treatments vary from topical creams to lasers, and even injectables.
