Yes, taking calcium supplements while pregnant is okay

Our bodies don’t produce calcium, which is why it’s important for us to get our daily fix, be that from the food we eat or from calcium supplements.

When a woman is pregnant, all the more she’ll need calcium.

According to Quillamor, a pregnant woman will need 500-1000mg a day. After birth and during breast feeding, she will need 1000-1500mg.

Kahit ang mother, kailangan niya rin yun,” said OB-Gynecologist Dr. Raul Quillamor on Pinoy MD.

So keep taking your calcium supplements, ladies! It's good for you and your baby. — LA, GMA News
