It's the Year of the Metal Rat: What's in store for all of us in 2020?

It's the Year of the Metal Rat, so if the energy forces are to be believed, get ready for new beginnings.

Feng shui adviser Johnson Chua gave some examples of things to look forward to this 2020: luck in new businesses, the start of good relationships (you might just find The One!), and some strong chances of promotion in your chosen career.

During an interview with GMA News Online, Chua gave a forecast for each of the Chinese zodiac signs.

Here's what you should look forward to, and avoid, this 2020.

Rat (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020)

It may be the rat's year, but it's going to be a very challenging year for those born in the year of the rat.

"Mas mabilis po tayong maging positive. 'Pag meron po tayong gustong gawin mas mabilis po tayong sumikat at makilala," Chua said.

"Although 'yun nga lang, this year kasi is also your year, medyo mabilis din po tayong masira o mapahiya or maging prone po in terms of misunderstanding," he added.

He said to be cautious of backbiters and traitors, and advised to manage emotionally controlled decisions.

This year has a lot of "power luck," so it's looking good in terms of career and money.

"May signs of promotion in terms of career...sa money naman po mayroon po tayong signs of long-term investment. So maganda po for this year to improve 'yung asset natin," he said.

Ox (1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009)

Since the ox is the rat's number one friend, those born in the year of the ox are bound to be lucky this year, particularly with relationships.

"Marami kayong mga friends, network, or support na puwedeng makuha sa taong ito," Chua said.

He advised those born in the year of the ox to set a clear target goal and carefully consider the timing when accepting opportunities.

"Kailangan lang po malinaw yung target goal niyo po. Kasi 'pag hindi po malinaw yung target goal, baka mas more tinatapos niyo pa yung goal ng iba kaysa sa sarili niyong goal," he said.

"Kung meron po kayong mga opportunity na pumapasok sa inyo, ang highly advised po natin dun is also kailangan bigyan natin ng tamang time management, and also kailangan po i-maximize natin yung luck natin para magawa po nating lahat 'yon," he added.

Tiger (1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010)

This year has a lot of opportunity luck for those born in the year of the tiger.

However, Chua said you must not get distracted.

"Kapag too much of opportunity, minsan po mas nagiging 'indecisive' po tayo. Kaya kailangan po, mas i-focus natin kung ano po 'yung opportunity na puwede lang po mag-relate sa target goal natin," he said.

There's also a lot of travel luck for tigers this year, so expect a lot of trips.

It might also be the best time to apply for that job abroad, or apply for visas!

Rabbit (1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011)

Unfortunately for the rabbit, Chua said they have the "misfortune luck energy."

"When you talk about misfortune, this is something to do with parang, some of your expectation, hindi po siya nakakamit," he explained.

The health energy is also low for people born in this year.

Rabbits are also very emotional.

"'Pag mahina po 'yung emotion, nakakapag-cause po siya ng negative decision-making. OK so, highly advised is not to take high risk this year especially in terms of investment and also dapat po maging maingat po tayo in terms of trusting," Chua said.

Dragon (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012)

For the dragons, the year promises power and authority.

"When you say power and authority ibig sabihin mas...mayroon tayong signs of recognition, promotion. And also it's a good year para mas i-implement natin kung anong napapansin na system or rules especially for business or career," Chua explained.

But watch out, there might be backbiters or traitors around you.

"We need to be more aware sa mga conflict, or hidden backfighters or traitors. As much as possible 'wag po nating pansinin 'yon. Mas i-focus po natin 'yung work itself," he said.

He also said to watch out for accidents or injuries.

Snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013)

If last year was bad for the snake, it's going to be better this year.

"At least mas more uplifted na po tayo in terms of mga obstacles and hindrance," Chua said.

Still there are a lot to be cautious about.

"Dapat po this year, mas mag-ingat po tayo in terms of mga manloloko, magnanakaw. And also 'wag po tayong magiging masyadong impulsive sa mga decisions natin para hindi rin po tayo magkaroon ng maling mga decisions o puwede po tayong maisahan," he said.

Horse (1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014)

Since the horse is the number one enemy of the rat, those born in this year need to be more cautious of conflicts and direct clashes.

"So in short for the year of the horse, as much as possible, dapat go with the flow po tayo. 'Wag po tayong mag-expect too much, kasi minsan po expectation can lead to frustration and depression," Chua said.

He also said to watch your budget and your health.

"Maintain po natin mabuti 'yung ating budget or 'yung pera po natin," he said.

"And also dapat mas more magbigay time tayo in our health kasi this year
ang horse po has the 'illness star' and the 'illness star' is not only about the physical. mMy kinalaman siya sa emotional tsaka sa psychological," he added.

Sheep (1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015)

It's a relationship year for the year of the sheep, so expect a lot of networking and resources.

However, Chua warns you not to be distracted, and to take things one at a time.

"'Wag lang po tayong mabilis ma-distract. So in short, dapat alam natin 'yung target goal natin," he said. "Dapat gagawin natin lahat ng bagay one at a time."

Monkey (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016)

Because monkey is also a friend of the rat, those born in the year of the monkey should expect more connections, resources, and support this year.

He said to just ask for help for said connections.

"Dapat maging mas more decisive din po tayo sa mga bagay na gusto natin and humingi po tayo ng tamang tulong sa mga ating mga network and resources," he said.

"Also, dapat po maging open lang po tayo na baka mago-offer din po tayo ng mga help to other people. Kasi this year is a 'service type' year, so kumbaga...baka marami pong ibang taong mangangailangan ng inyong profession," he added.

Rooster (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017)

It may technically be the metal rat's year, but the roosters are expected to shine the brightest.

"For the year of the rooster, bilang number one po for the year 2020, ibig sabihin puro good luck po 'yung energy natin ngayon. Malakas yung aura niyo," Chua said.

He said that roosters in particular have the "completion energy," which means that if you started something recently, now is the time to finish it.

"'Pag meron po kayong mga inaantay na mga projects, or meron po kayong mga sinimulan na projects, at gusto niyo pong matapos yan for the year 2020, eto na po yung tamang panahon," he said.

"And also dahil mabilis ang success luck natin ngayon, mas mabilis po nating magagawa ang mga target goal," he added.

There's also chances for promotion in the roosters' chosen careers.

However, Cua warned to watch your health because it is still bound to be a stressful year.

Dog (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018)

It is also bound to be a good year for those born in the year of the dog, especially in terms of money and cash flow.

"As long na positive po ang energy natin, mas maganda po yung cash flow papasok saatin. So it's a good year para to do business, and also kapag may mga ginagawa po kayong other sidelines," he said.

Chua advised that you keep your emotions positive.

"Kapag positive emotion, 'yung cash flow positive. Pero 'pag negative emotion, that's also a negative cash flow," he warned.

However, he said there are also signs of promotion and success, but added that you should watch your health.

Pig (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031)

Those born in the year of the pig are advised to carefully watch their health and emotions.

"This year po, mas more magiging maingat po tayo in terms of our health kasi mas more sakitin po ang pig. Especially, their emotions is medyo more unstable," Chua said.

"So we need to maintain the positive, uhh, thinking and also positive feeling. tapos 'wag po tayong masyadong magpapadala sa emotions natin," he added. — LA, GMA News
