Stranded UP dormers donate blood to Red Cross

Students stranded in the dormitories of the University of the Philippines Diliman and Los Baños donated their blood to the Philippine Red Cross.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, UPLB shared photos from the blood donation drive at the Women's Dorm.

Two more bloodletting waves will be conducted at the New Dorm in Wednesday and Mareha on Friday.

"Dahil sa COVID-19 at sa umiiral na enhanced community quarantine, maraming mga mass blood donation ang nakansela," said the UP Media and Public Relations Office.

"Nahihirapan din ang mga walk-in donors dahil sa limitasyon sa public transportation, kahit na bukas ang ibang blood donation centers," it added.

According to UPLB, students made use of their idle time in quarantine by contributing to the Red Cross blood stocks.

In UP Diliman, Red Cross will also visit on the following dates:

  • April 20-21 : Sanggumay Residence Dorm (for Sanggumay and Kalayaan Dormers)
  • April 22-23: Between Acacia Dorm and the Parish office (for Acacia, Ilang-Ilang and Ipil dormers)
  • April 24/27: Kamagong and Centennial Dorms
  • April 28 : Sampaguita Dorm

Non-dormers who wish to donate their blood may send a message to 09285038628. --MGP, GMA News
