GMA News reporter Saleema Refran tests negative for COVID-19, recovers from pneumonia

Not only has Saleema Refran tested negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), but she has also recovered from pneumonia.

The GMA News reporter confirmed the good news on her Facebook page Monday, posting a photo of herself sitting on a hospital bed and flashing the finger hearts.

She may have a face mask on but Saleema's smile is undeniable.

"Ngiting napagtagumpayan ang Pneumonia. SARS-CoV-2: NEGATIVE. Outlook sa buhay: POSITIVE na POSITIVE," Saleema wrote in the caption of her post.

On her Facebook post, Saleema also thanked those who have prayed for her and helped her get better.

"Salamat sa mga magagaling kong duktor Dr Elsie Baronia-Locson LC Elle and Dr Sheena Marie Anne Santos," she began her thank you's, including the doctors and medical personnels in Quezon City Health for convincing her not to ignore her asthma.

"Salamat sa mga nag-alaga sa akin sa buong ospital. Di ko po kayo malilimutan. Salamat din sa mga magagaling na duktor at medical personnel ng QC Health," she added.

"Salamat po ang kinumbinse nyo ako na wag balewalain ang hika ko."

Saleema ended her post thanking her family for making her laugh and keeping her spirits up even though she knew that they were also scared.

"Salamat po Lord at ligtas po ako."

Saleema has been covering the news in Quezon City since the beginning of quarantine.

In April, she shared how she and her crew team have been taking extra precautionary measures to avoid contracting COVID-19. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
