Taytay garment makers shift from making school uniforms to PPEs

The garment makers in Taytay, Rizal, would have been busy making school uniforms this time of the year, but face-to-face classes and school activities have been called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Lyn Ching’s “Unang Balita” report Tuesday, some of these garment makers have shifted to making face masks and personal protective equipment (PPEs) to help our frontliners in the fight against the coronavirus disease.

These waterproof and pico-fiber PPEs cost around P350 to P430.

The report said the garment makers have also produced about 100 face masks to give away for free.

To thank them for their hard work, the “Unang Hirit” team went to Taytay, the “Garments Capital of the Philippines,” to give them a supply of alcohol. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
