Solenn Heussaff shares her road to recovery after giving birth via c-section in latest vlog

Solenn Heussaff shared her own road to recovery journey after giving birth via c-section to Baby Thylane.

On her latest vlog, the Kapuso star gave some tips as well as some of the things she did to make for a smoother c-section recovery.

Solenn told fellow new moms that you should "slowly" get back to your regular, as you also listen to your body and to the advice of your OB Gyne and doctors.

She stressed that the process "takes time."

"Obviously when you're c-sectioned, things are misplaced. Feeling that core again isn't going to happen right away so just know that is normal," she said.

Solenn said when you're a breastfeeding mom you have to eat your carbs and veggies such as Malunggay, reminding moms that they shouldn't also "overeat."

Solenn said it was only on her 4th month postpartum when she started to lose weight. At six months postpartum, she started to feel like herself again.

Her doctor suggested for Solenn to do walking as an exercise at 8 weeks postpartum, light running at 3 months postpartum. she can almost do any workouts at 4th month.

"Know that it takes time and I think based on what I felt, you can't really do much until before your 8 weeks. Walking is the best exercise," she said.

According to Solenn, moms walk three to five kilometers a day as exercise; this will help them lose weight, she said.

Aside from walking, Solenn recommended "some yoga and breathing exercises."

"Whether you are c-section or normal delivery, you need to start with these breathing exercise. I know it may seem super boring and you're like 'ugh when can I go back to boxing,' unless you're Iya Villiania you can't. So basically you need to do breathing exercises. This is to strengthen your core again," she said in the video.

Aside from eating right and light exercises, Solenn stressed the importance of wearing binders.

Solenn admitted that stepping on the weighing scale depressed her at the beginning. And even when she looked like she's shrinking and getting rid of water retention, she was stuck at 65 kg for at least three months.

And so Solenn she decided to go by a measuring tape instead, and continued to shut down all the body-shaming comments she'd received.

"I had a lot of people tell me ay maganda ka naman kahit buntis or blooming ka kahit nanganak na. Is that supposed to mean that people that give birth don't look good or people that gave birth aren't supposed to be glowing? I don't think so," she said.

She added that "women that go through pregnancy go through a lot, yes. They don't sleep, your body wholly changes, your boobs sag, your nipples change, some nipples become as big as a coaster for your beer."

"My boobs are uneven left is super lawlaw and my right is super nice and perk," she narrated.

Solenn stressed that a lot of things change in a body after giving birth, " it already is difficult as it is because from a normal body you look at yourself in the mirror and you do not recognize yourself so you don't need the extra thought bubble of other people thank you very much."

Despite her being 4 kilograms heavier with her hips 4 inch wider than she was pre-pregnancy, she said she is  "way happier now and I hope a lot of moms out there will also embrace the way they look now I don't think many people can give birth to another human being."
