146 women get free pap smear, breast exam from Kapuso Foundation this Women's Month

This Women's Month, the GMA Kapuso Foundation is gifting ladies with much-needed medical checkups to protect women's health.

According to a report on "24 Oras," 146 ladies received free pap smear, breast examination, and hygiene kits.

The medical tests can help detect symptoms of breast and cervical cancer.

Data from Global Cancer Observatory revealed that 27,163 breast cancer cases and 7,897 cervical cancer cases were recorded among Filipinas in 2020.

Among those who received the checkups is Mylene Matugas, a member of Pandeladies, a group which sells bread made by Malabon inmates.

Other beneficiaries include Leonora Briones, a mother of 10 who earns a living by peeling garlic, and Jenny Helo, leader of Ronda ng Kababaihan of Pateros.

Donations can be made through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuiller, and Pay Maya. Vouchers can also be bought from Shopee and Zalora.

For more information on how to donate, you can visit GMA Kapuso Foundation's website.
