Iza Calzado marks 1 year after COVID-19 battle: ‘Every breath is a blessing’
It’s been exactly one year since Iza Calzado was discharged from the hospital after surviving a battle with COVID-19.
The actress took to social media on Thursday to share a message of hope addressed to all Filipinos still struggling due to the pandemic.
“If you are reading this, that means you are alive and that in itself is a gift. I know that so many of us are struggling, it could be physically, mentally, spiritually, financially maybe even all at the same time but what I want to say is please fight to survive. You have been given an opportunity to live when so many have lost this chance. I hope you find something to be grateful for no matter how small it is,” Iza said.
“May you also find something to live for and fight for just like I did when I was in the hospital and now that I am home,” she added.
Iza also expressed gratitude to all the frontliners and loved ones who helped her on the road to recovery.
“Today, I am especially grateful for my frontliners who took such great care of me, for the love and prayers people sent my way at a time when I needed it most,” she wrote.
“I am very grateful for my loved ones who support me through difficult moments and remind me to see the silver lining in these situations,” she added.
Iza revealed she tested positive for COVID-19 in March 2020.
