Family asks for help as third child suffers from rare hereditary eye condition

A family from Caramoan, Camarines Sur is asking for help to get its youngest member treated for a rare eye condition.

According to a report from "24 Oras," three out of the four children in the Clores family suffer from congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy, which involves the clouding of the cornea.

Two of them, Roildan and Rayven, had already undergone surgery back in 2011 thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines, and Dr. Tonton Pascual, an ophthalmologist.

"I am no longer shy to make friends and I am now more confident in myself," said Roildan, who is now 18 years old, in Filipino.

Their younger sister Kim, however, is still suffering from the condition.

"When she takes photos of what she reads she really has to hold it closer to her eyes," said Rosalinda Clores, their mother.

Pascual said Kim, like her brothers, can still improve her vision through corneal transplant.

"I hope you can help me so I can study properly," Kim said.

Interested eye donors can contact the Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines.

The Kapuso Foundation is also accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuiller, and Pay Maya. Vouchers can also be bought from Shopee and Zalora.
