Should women be worried if their menstruation changes color from red to brown and back again?

Girls, have you been wondering why your period blood changes color from time to time? Sometimes it's red, sometimes it's brown, and sometimes it's reddish-brown.

Well, don't worry! According to an OB-Gynecologist, a change in the color of your menstruation is entirely normal.

In an epiode of "Pinoy MD," Dr. Raul "Dr. Q." Quillamor explained that a brown or a reddish brown menstruation is actually old, dried up blood from previous cycle that may have stayed in the uterus or vagina.

According to Dr. Q, the color change is simply the result of an oxidation process that turns the period blood brown or reddish brown.

"It's normal. You have nothing to worry about that," the doctor said. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
