Pia Wurtzbach on getting COVID-19 vaccine: Let’s help one another fight the virus
Pia Wurtzbach has received a dose of the vaccine against COVID-19.
She shared the update on Instagram, Sunday, with a photo of herself showing her newly inoculated arm. It was followed by another photo of her getting the jab.
In the caption of her post, the Miss Universe 2015 titleholder shared her reasons as to why she decided to get vaccinated.
“It’s as simple as me wanting to protect myself from getting and spreading the virus. I don’t want to risk the people around me—especially my loved ones—to get sick because of me.”
“Getting the vaccine can help us avoid becoming severely ill and therefore is a safer choice for us,” she continued.
Pia added that although some have gotten their doses, everyone should still be mindful of their actions so as not to help spread and get the disease.
“This doesn’t mean we can go back to our old ways. We still need to be careful and follow the basic health protocols. [The vaccine is] just a shield, an extra layer of protection for us.”
Before ending, the beauty queen encouraged everyone to do their part in achieving a better and healthier tomorrow by getting their vaccines.
“Let’s help one another fight this deadly virus by building immunity around us. When given the chance, please take whatever vaccine is made available to you,” she wrote.
