Shamcey Supsup recovers from COVID-19

Shamcey Supsup reveals she has recovered from COVID-19.

The beauty queen shared the news Saturday, saying she contracted the virus three weeks ago.

“3 weeks ago, what we all thought was just a simple flu turned out to be COVID,” she wrote on Instagram.

Fortunately, she was fully vaccinated and experienced only mild to moderate symptoms.

“I would describe it as a really really bad flu. It was also the first time that I’ve experienced a total loss of smell and taste,” the beauty queen said.

“Lucky enough, we were able to get better at home,” she added. “Praying for everyone’s safety and for the pandemic to end soon.”

Now serving as the national director of Miss Universe Philippines, Shamcey represented the Philippines in 2011 and won third runner-up during the 60th Miss Universe pageant. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
