Kylie Padilla reveals she used to be bulimic: 'I hated myself for 10 years'

Kylie Padilla just revealed that she once struggled with bulimia, an eating disorder, for 10 years.

In a 20-minute vlog, the actress and mother recalled her days as a "chubby" and "small-eyed" kid who lived in Australia for seven years.

"When I was a little girl, my idea of beauty was blonde, blue eyes, tall, skinny -- and that was not me," she said.

Kylie said she didn't consider herself "beautiful" growing up, and that "unhealthy" mindset led to bulimia.

"I had such low self esteem," she said. "When I was a little girl, I just felt like I can't be me. Being me is not beautiful. And naging eating disorder siya for a long time."

"It's so sad to say this, but I hated myself for 10 years," she added.

Now a "recovering bulimic," Kylie shared that she started eating better after getting pregnant with her first son Alas.

"I had a reason to eat so… kumain na ako nang kumain,” she said.

"Thankful ako na when I got pregnant," she added. "Nagkaroon ako ng respeto… I saw my body in a different way."

As society continues to be exposed to so-called "beauty standards" on the internet, Kylie reminded everyone to "treat [themselves] better" and "know [their] worth."

“There's nothing wrong with wanting to look beautiful. It's just that, sana you do it in a way that makes you healthier and makes you feel more confident as a person,” she said.
