Eating a lot but not gaining weight? You might need to see a doctor


Ever wondered why some people do not gain weight even though they eat a lot?

In an episode of “Pinoy MD,” Dr. Oyie Balburias said this may be the result of something serious, such as malabsorption or maldigestion.

According to Balburias, the nutrients of everything we eat should be absorbed by the small intestines for the body to build muscle mass. Otherwise, you might have a health condition.

“Kung may problema ang maliit na bituka, meron tayong tinatawag na intestinal permeability or hindi niya naa-absorb ang mga sustansya na galing sa ibang pagkain kaya hirap ka mag-gain ng muscle mass.”
