14-year-old girl with cloudy eye condition seeks help to get corneal transplant

A 14-year-old girl suffering from an eye condition that affects her vision is asking for help to get a corneal transplant.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Kim Clores has congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy, which is characterized by cloudy corneas.

"Ito ay inborn na nagiging parang cloudy parang mapusyaw na ma-bughaw 'yung corneas," said Dr. Tonton Pascual, Ophthalmologist, Corneal and External Disease Specialist at Asian Hospital and Medical Center.

"Dahil may pagkacloudy 'yung cornea or malabo, hindi makapasok ng maayos 'yung ilaw so malabo 'yung paningin. Minsan sumasakit din, humahapdi," he added.

Her siblings, Roildan and Rayven, also suffered from the same condition, but they got corneal transplants in 2012 and 2017 thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation, volunteer doctors, and the Eye Bank Foundation.

Kim was also supposed to have her operation then, but she was often sick.

She prays every day to have an operation because she experiences difficulties in studying as she can see very little light. She stays up almost to the wee hours of the morning to do so.

For those who would like to help Kim, you may send your donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
