Kris Aquino gives health update: 'It’s definite I have 5, possibly 6 autoimmune conditions'

It's not just four autoimmune diseases that Kris Aquino is contending with. It's actually five, with the possibility of six.

That's the latest health update the self-styled Queen of All Media gave on Instagram Wednesday.

Sharing a video of herself taking the first dose of her medicine while still inside her doctor's clinic, Kris said it was "roughly 13 hours ago" when she started her first "baby dose" of methotrexate, a type of medicine that treats cancer, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis, she explained in her post.

When she arrived in the US in 2022, Kris "received sad news that my 3 autoimmune conditions had become 4 namely: chronic spontaneous urticaria, autoimmune thyroiditis, and Churg Strauss or what’s now been renamed EGPA- a rare and life threatening form of vasculitis."

And though she started taking "a new biological injectable," the number of allergens in her blood remained high.

According to Kris, her lead doctor in UCLA had a hard time convincing her to take methotrexate. "But when I saw my inflammatory numbers were high and so was my ANA," she "bit the bullet" and started her "baby dose" of the medicine, which they plan on increasing as the weeks go by.

"For now it’s definite I have 5, possibly 6 autoimmune conditions," she said.

In her previous health update last month, Kris shared a glimpse of her health condition and already mentioned the possibility of her autoimmune disease count  "pwede maging 5 or 6."

Still, not all is grim.

Kris was well enough to spend Easter Sunday with friends, including Batangas Governor Mark Leviste, her son Bimby, and fashion designer Michael Leyva.

Before that, her son Bimby shared Kris was in stable condition and weighed 103lbs.
