2 brothers diagnosed with tuberculosis with the help of GMA Kapuso Foundation
After being brought to the hospital with the help of the GMA Kapuso Foundation, the two brothers from Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac who are battling chronic malnutrition have been diagnosed with tuberculosis.
According to "24 Oras" report on Thursday, brothers Roger and Christian Jake are now being treated for TB, which they likely contracted from their father.
The dad of the two boys passed away in 2019 due to aneurysm and tuberculosis.
"Si Christian at si Roger ay nagpa-test na po ng plema at ang resulta ho nila ay mTB-detected or positibo sa TB, pinarefer na po natin sila sa TB-DOTS at nagsimula na ho ang gamutan," Tarlac Provincial Hospital Pedia Resident Dr. Emil Umipig said.
Roger and Christian Jake's ongoing infections are continuously being treated.
Meanwhile, Christian Jake received a surprise birthday party from the Kapuso Foundation as he turned 13 years old. His birthday wish is for him and his brother to recover from their condition.
He still needs a CT scan for his spine, which was bent after he fell from a tree.
For those who are interested to help, the GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
