8-year-old with cataract undergoes surgery thanks to GMA Kapuso Foundation

An eight-year-old boy from Pangasinan has undergone surgery to remove cataract from both his eyes thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, Prince Taberna developed cataract when he was four years old.

His impaired vision made it difficult for him to even read, but he is not giving up on his dream of becoming a pilot someday.

"Mas gagalingan ko po sa school," he said. "Tatapusin ko po ang pag-aaral ko."

His father's income as a construction worker is not enough for their family's needs, so they approached the GMA Kapuso Foundation to help with Prince's medical treatment.

Prince was taken to Eyesite in Mandaluyong City, and he was able to get surgery on August 18 with the help of GMA Kapuso Foundation's partners.

The surgery was a success and Prince will be prescribed eyeglasses so he can read better. He will also undergo follow-up checkups.

For those who wish to help Prince as he recovers, the GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
