Three women who got a nose job as an early Christmas gift demand refund, accountability

Three women who got a nose job as an early Christmas gift demand refund, accountability

Three women are now demanding accountability and a refund after their dream noses for the upcoming holidays turned into a nightmare.

In the latest episode of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," workmates Lara, Vhine, and Judith narrated their experiences.

According to the women, they wanted to have a transformation ahead of their Christmas party.

The first to discover the rhinoplasty promo was Lara, who said her nose had always been her insecurity.

"Kasi kapag nagpi-picture ako, ang hirap po humanap ng magandang anggulo. Kailangan lagi mo siyang i-enhance kasi sa aming magkakapatid, ako 'yung pinaka pango," she said.

["I find it difficult to take pictures because I couldn't find a good angle. I always had to enhance it because among all my siblings, I'm the only one who has a flat nose."]

Lara thought that it would be the perfect Christmas gift she could give herself, as she has been working really hard the past year.

Instead of the usual price range of P70,000-P100,000, the procedure was being offered at a promotional price of P55,000.

"Nakita ko na maganda naman 'yung gawa sa kanila kaya na-convince din po talaga ako," she said.

["I was convinced when I saw the result of their past procedures."]

In August, Lara underwent the procedure.

"Nu'ng inooperahan po ako, wala naman po ako actually nararamdaman na masakit right after the procedure kasi okay naman po," she said, adding that she was initially satisfied with the results.

["I didn't feel any pain during or after the procedure."]

When Vhine and Judith saw Lara's posts, they too took interest in the procedure.

Vhine immediately checked her savings, while Judith's boyfriend offered to sponsor her rhinoplasty.

A month after Lara underwent the procedure, Vhine and Judith also went to the same doctor to have a rhinoplasty. But after a few weeks, they started noticing some disturbing changes in their noses.

"After seven days tinanggal 'yung cast sa ilong ko, nakita ko na uneven na siya pero ang sabi ni Doc dahil lang siya sa swelling. Pabalik-balik po ako dun sa clinic, tinuturukan po siya nga steroid para daw po bumaba 'yung swelling niya. Hanggang sa ika-four months na, last na checkup ko, hindi talaga siya nawawala," Lara said.

["Seven days after the cast was removed, I noticed that my nose was uneven. But the doctor said that it's only because my nose is still swollen. I kept on going back to their clinic. For four months, they gave me steroids to relieve the swelling. But my nose was still the same."]

She continued, "As in tabingi po talaga 'yung pagkakagawa. Nagpa-checkup po ako sa ibang doctor after four months sabi nga po hindi po siya dahil sa swelling talaga. Talagang sobra siya ng cartilage dito kaya po siya mukhang tabingi."

["The result was really uneven. I checked with another doctor. They confirmed that my uneven nose was not a result of the swelling. It was because there was an excess cartilage."]

The same thing happened to Vhine. She said she can feel the tip of the implant on her nose and there's something wrong with how it was placed. She also had sinusitis, which made the condition worse.

Meanwhile, Judith experienced some bleeding on her nose.

Judith said the doctor prescribed some medicine, but it didn't seem to help.

They are now asking to speak to the doctor who did their noses. Vhine said they just want the doctor to reach out to them.

The KMJS team tried to contact the said doctor, but the doctor declined to give an interview.

Lara, Vhine, and Judith have already consulted another doctor to have their noses fixed. They already had their nose fillers removed and their wounds are currently healing.

According to the Philippine Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (PAPRAS), there is a standard to follow when it comes to this kind of operation.

"Our responsibility is to make sure that our patients get the treatment that may benefit them, at the same time, it should be safe and ethical," the association said.

Atty. Rizzle Mae Ostia-Alburo said that if it can be proven that the doctor was negligent, the victims can file a case for damages.

Lara also had a reminder for those who plan to undergo a rhinoplasty.

"Wala namang mali sa pag-enhance. Pero siguro mag-research na lang din maigi and huwag magpapadala sa mga nagre-refer or nag-o-offer ng promo," she said.

["There's nothing wrong with wanting to enhance parts of your body. But it's best to do your own research and not be swayed by referrals or promotional offers."]
