David Licauco is feeling better, sleeping better following sleep apnea surgery

David Licauco is now feeling better and sleeping better after undergoing a procedure for his sleep apnea.

According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, the Pambansang Ginoo struggled with the condition for years, as his breathing would stop several times while he was sleeping.

"Usually, sa umaga, talagang wala ako sa mood, and then, hirap ako huminga pagkagising ko. So it takes a while talaga for me to warm up, but today parang 'Uy, wow. Ito pala 'yung feeling ng maayos 'yung tulog,'" David said.

The procedure, called radiofrequency ablation, lasted for only 30 minutes.

"Based on last night, I think it was really helpful. What they did was parang cinauterize nila 'yung other part of my nose kasi my nose has a blockage, so 'yung airway ko hindi siya nakakadaan. Kapag natutulog ako, nagko-close siya," the Sparkle star said.

He still needs to undergo another procedure for his throat, so he can finally have flawless sleep.

"Feeling ko hindi lang din naman sa trabaho na-affect eh, also like pakikitungo sa mga tao since bad mood nga ako sa umaga even sa afternoon so ayun. Pasensya na kung minsan eh mukha akong wala sa mood but I'm getting there, I'm getting better, and I'm improving," David said.

David first opened up about his condition last year.

On Tuesday, he took the chance to thank his fans who prayed for his surgery.

David is currently working on "Pulang Araw" with Barbie Forteza, Alden Richards, and Sanya Lopez.

Barbie and David also have an upcoming movie titled "That Kind of Love."
