Mikael Daez on his first major foot injury: 'I’ll learn to walk again just as my son starts to walk too'

Mikael Daez just suffered his first major injury, rupturing his Achilles tendon upon landing on his foot during a game of basketball.

“Sports-wise, this might be the worst injury to have, but honestly, I’m in good spirits,” Mikael said in his video posted on Instagram.

“I’ll learn to walk again just as my son starts to walk too. Sabay na lang kami,” he added.

Mikael spent a night in the hospital before undergoing his first-ever surgery.

In the caption, Mikael said this is “possibly the scariest basketball-related injury I could imagine. But at this point in my life, I guess we take whatever curveballs life throws at us.”

According to Mikael, his first goal is "to get back to walking normally" so he can help Megan in taking care of Leon.

"Then, over the long run, I can re-learn how to run and jump alongside my son," he said.

Mikael said it is “going to be a very long road to recovery” but that he is up for the challenge.

“P.S. Moving around in crutches is tough,” he said.

Mikael and Megan Young, who tied the knot in 2020, welcomed their baby boy Leon in May.

Since giving birth, Megan has been sharing her journey as a mom, including her childbirth experience.

The married couple celebrated becoming parents by going on a date in June, which, according to Megan, was also their way of making time for each other as husband and wife.
