Ate Gay following health improvement: 'Napakasuwerte ko sa mga anghel ko'
Ate Gay is overflowing with gratitude as his health continues to improve amid ongoing cancer treatment.
As seen in Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, the comedian can now move freely again with the lump on his neck shrinking significantly.
"Four days pa lang na radiation eh ang ganda-ganda na ng nararamdaman ko. Wala na. Halos isang kilong laman, wala na yata dito. Wala na eh, as in tapal na lang siya eh," Ate Gay said.
The full treatment regimen is extensive, requiring 35 days of radiation and five times of chemotherapy. Despite the demanding schedule, the visible results were achieved after only one session.
"Umiiyak ako dahil masaya ako, hindi sa malungkot, ha? Napakasuwerte ko sa mga anghel ko. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Ang suwerte-suwerte ko," Ate Gay said.
Ate Gay also expressed a heartfelt wish for all sick individuals, especially those with cancer in the country who cannot afford treatment.
"Sana may mga libre na radiation at saka chemo na hindi lang tayo kakapit sa suwerte," Ate Gay said.
The importance of rest and prayer also became clear with Ate Gay's battle.
"Minsan nakakalimutan kong magdasal. Naging nakakalimot akong magsimba. 'Pag natutulog ako, do'n lang ako nagdadasal, dapat pala oras-oras, lagi-lagi, lahat ng ginagawa mo, ipagdadasal. 'Yon ang natutunan ko dito. At saka 'wag pababayaan ang sarili. Health is wealth."
Ate Gay revealed his stage 4 cancer diagnosis on "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" in September, and since then, blessings have poured in. He previously got a surprise visit from a doctor who is also a fan of him.
He is currently undergoing radiation therapy at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa, thanks to an anonymous donor whom he referred to as his "angel."
Earlier this week, Ate Gay shared on Facebook how the lump on his neck has visibly shrunk.
