Kuya Kim offers to help another netizen with psychiatrist consultation
Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of mental health issues and suicidal ideation.
Kuya Kim is extending his help to a netizen dealing with mental health issues.
On Threads, the Kapuso TV personality responded to a netizen looking for a psychiatrist.
“I DM'd you. Tight hug," Kuya Kim said.
It seems they had a private conversation because shortly after the netizen expressed her gratitude to Kuya Kim as well as to the people who left words of encouragement.
“I was about to end my life tonight," the netizen said. "Just in time, my phone beeped. And it was Kuya Kim’s message. Sobrang thank you, Kuya! Grabeeee. Naiiyak ako now."
The netizen never expected that she would receive heartfelt responses from strangers, she said, more so a celebrity like Kuya Kim reaching out to her.
“Can’t thank all of you po. Alam nyo, hindi ko naman po in-expect na mapansin ako ni Kuya Kim eh. Di ko rin in-expect na marami akong makukuha na encouragement and advices here,” she wrote.
“'Di ko po kayo kilala, pero sobrang thank you po. Ang saya po ng puso ko ngayon,” she added.
On Kuya Kim's reply, another netizen commented saying, "Kuya Kim found his new purpose, his new advocacy for his dear Emman."
The Kapuso host is still grieving his youngest daughter, Emman, who passed away at the age of 19 last October. He has been advocating for kindness in honor of her memory since then.
Earlier in the month, Kuya Kim invited a netizen, CJ Robles, to his show “TiktoClock” after he perceived his cry for help on Threads. He also helped him consult with a psychiatrist.
In a recent episode of Liza Diño and Ice Seguerra's podcast, Kuya Kim said he is "going to take some classes in counseling because so many people approach me now — people I don't know who are also suicidal or also have a mental health problem."
"I think duon ako dinadala ni Lord. Naging magnet ako sa mga taong nangangailangan ng advice sa mental health," Kuya kim added. — Jade Veronique Yap/LA, GMA Integrated News
