Kara David reveals why she's no longer into K-Dramas

Kara David said she used to be invested in watching Korean drama series, but not anymore.

In her sit-down interview with Dani Barretto for "The Bare It All" podcast, the Kapuso journalist revealed the two reasons why she no longer binges K-Dramas.

According to Kara, one of the reasons is that watching them would keep her up late. But her second reason was more personal.

"I really stopped watching after I saw 'The World of the Married'," she said in Filipino.

She then recalled how deeply she became invested in the story, particularly the character of the husband who was unfaithful to his wife.

"My husband would always tell me, 'Stop watching already, because you're even getting angry at me. Why are you getting mad at me?'" she said.

Kara also explained that her husband's work as a seafarer made the situation even more challenging.

"He would tell me, 'Sometimes, the only time I get a signal is when I'm in the middle of the ocean, and you're going to fight with me over something I didn't even do?'" she said.

Earlier in August, Kara was featured in Preview magazine, where she shared her two cents about how content creators and journalists can help each other in public service and the fight against misinformation.

Kara won three awards at the FAMAS Broadcast Arts Awards 2026, including Best Documentary for "Embalsamador De Motor" on "I-Witness" and Best Public Affairs Talk Show for "I-Listen."

Aside from being a top journalist and documentarist, she is also one of the Filipino internet's favorite personalities. She has been dubbed the "Queen of Potential Sound" for her reactions and witty dialogues on TikTok. —Hermes Joy Tunac/MGP, GMA News
