Turn your kitchen into a spring of good luck with a little Feng Shui
A little help goes a long way and as the public prepares for a new year, Feng Shui experts are offering their services to help attract luck in 2018.
Feng Shui expert Johnson Chua in "Unang Hirit" on Thursday gave a pro bono session on how to turn the kitchen — the center of good fortune and health in the home — into a fountain of prosperity.
"Napakaimportante na ang ating kusina ay malinis, maaliwalas, at maluwag din," he said.
In addition to tidying up, here are a few more things to consider.
1. Add yellow or green curtains to the window. Decorate your kitchen with the luck colors of the year, beginning with the window if you have one.
If not, framed art that prominently features green and/or yellow also works. You can also use green and/or yellow table runners and placements — preferably new ones!
2. Place a small plant near the sink. According to Chua, the element of wood is one of the best in 2018, especially when placed near water. A small plant, real or fake, will invite prosperity and money.
3. Add some crystals. The stove area may be small, but the luck around it can still be improved — with crystal balls! Hang two near the stove and enjoy the sparkle while you're at it.
4. Hang a fish on the door. Not a real fish, of course. The fish is a symbol of abundance, which is why Chua recommends having this charm in the kitchen. Another option is a gourd, which symbolizes good health and prosperity.
5. Money tree on counter top or next to sink. The water element associated with the sink is something Chua recommends people utilize, so if you have means to get one, place a money tree near it and hope that lady luck takes notice and smiles at you!
