‘Woke up like this’ hair, Korean-inspired 'dos among top 2018 hairstyle trends

This year is going to be big — in terms of hair at least. Hairstylist Lourd Ramos in an interview with Unang Hirit on Thursday quoted the phrase "The bigger the hair, the closer to God" as he introduced the hairstyles that'll rule the streets and runways this 2018.

Curls are in this year for both men and women. For guys, it's clean shaven on the side paired with messy curls up top. Invest in a curling iron or get a perm if you're a dude who wants to stay on trend.

This version of the round upcut is a shoutout to the '90s and is inspired a little bit by K-style.

For women, "just woke up" is the look to achieve. The styled-but-looks-effortless appeal is slightly inspired by Dakota Johnson's 'do as Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades" series and is done with a downward tubular curling. Strong bangs is also a plus.

If you're more of a "short hair, don't care" kind of girl, a lob with undone messy curls could be the 'do for you. There's also a pixie cut curl explosion, which is like a sleek, sexy version of the Annie hairstyle.

Ombres are making a comeback, but more subtle this time. For colors, purple and copper tones are Ramos' top picks.

All you need to pull of these looks, Ramos said, is confidence. It doesn't matter what your face shape is, it's all about how well you can carry it.

"As long as you can pull of the look, you can have the haircut and the color," he explained. — AT/LA, GMA News
