A refilling station for hair care products to open in malls

News about a dead whale with 40kg of plastic in its stomach emphasized, once again, the plastic problem.

So the news about a refilling station for hair care products popping up this summer is a most welcome piece of news.

Unilever will open All Things Hair Refillery station in TriNoma, Glorietta, and Alabang Town Center all over the metro on March 23.

Customers can bring their old shampoo and conditioner empty and clean bottles to the nearest refilling station, where various hair care brands under the Unilever umbrella can be had.

You can also buy refillable bottles at the station for only P10 — but that defeats the purpose of eliminating plastic, no?

According to All Things Hair's announcement, each station is also "a collection point for upcycling" so that customers can surrender plastic bottles and sachets to be upcycled.

By the way, refills will be priced per gram.

The stations will run from March 23, 2019 to April 14, 2019. — LA, GMA News
