Fil-Am comedian Jo Koy's latest special 'Comin' In Hot' hits Netflix
Filipino-American stand up comic is back in Netflix to make you keel over in laughter.
In "Jo Koy: Comin' In Hot,' the comedian makes the Neil S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii explode in laughter.
In a phone interview with GMA News Online, Jo Koy, whose real name is Joseph Glenn Herbert, said it was just as fun as it looked.
"The island really embraced me, to see everybody come out and laugh together was just so much fun," he said.
Jo Koy admits he has a soft spot for Hawaii. And Hawaii loves him back — in Honolulu, November 24 is "Jo Koy Day." The mayor's office made the proclamation after Jo Koy broke the record for the most tickets sold by a single artist, with 11 sold-out shows and over 23,000 tickets sold in November 2017.
"It’s incredible, I pinch myself every time I fly to Hawaii. The people, the island, the culture, the love, the aloha that they give me, it’s phenomenal," he said.
"That’s why I really had to shoot my special there. I really had to," he added.
During the show, Jo Koy treats the crowd to a display of his hula dancing skills, and of course, the ever hilarious stories about his Pinay mom and his son.
