Dog attends grad rites of his ‘favorite human’ in UP Diliman
A golden retriever did not miss the opportunity to witness the graduation rites of his ‘favorite human’ as he attended the 108th Commencement Exercises of University of the Philippines – Diliman in Quezon City on Sunday.
Ian Serrano, 21 years old, graduated from UP Diliman with a Bachelors degree in Economics and with his girlfriend Bea Arroyo, his pet dog Paul attended the ceremony to show support.
“Dinala naming siya today to support Ian,” Bea said.
Bea added that Ian was Paul’s "favorite human."
Paul became the center of attention after the ceremony, with students stopping to pet as well as take a selfie with the cute furry creature.
According to the couple, they've had the two-year-old Paul since he was just a three-month-old pup.
He's kept Ian company, providing a boost of energy especially when facing difficulties with his academics.
“Kasi siya yung nagpapasaya sa akin tuwing nahihirapan ako sa academics, sa iba’t-ibang ginagawa ko sa college. Siya yung source of happiness ko, kasama na si Bea,” Ian said.
Paul also just finished a 14-week training to become a search and rescue dog, and is now listed among the UP-Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA)-Vanguard K9 Corps.
Paul’s training became Ian and Bea’s bonding that strengthened their relationship, the couple said.
“Bonding na rin with the dog,” Bea said. — LA, GMA News
