Antoinette Taus joins tree-planting in honor of Gina Lopez

Antoinette Taus joined a movement to plant 65 native trees to honor the late Gina Lopez.

The former TGIS star joined Gina's family, friends and fellow advocates planting "Gina's Grove" at Masungi Geopark Project's Legacy Trail on October 6.

"And what a beautiful day of remembrance it was - for the warrior that she was, the fires that she has ignited in our hearts, and the pieces of her spirit that remain in each of us," Antoinette wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

Swipe for more precious moments from this very special day.?????????? ________ VIA @MasungiGeoreserve | 65 native trees for @GinaLopezPH's 65 wonderful years. Together with Gina’s family, friends, and fellow advocates, we planted "Gina's Grove" in the Masungi Geopark Project's Legacy Trail last October 6, 2019. And what a beautiful day of remembrance it was - for the warrior that she was, the fires that she has ignited in our hearts, and the pieces of her spirit that remain in each of us. The Masungi Geopark Project around Masungi Georeserve was also barren when we first met. Like Masungi, it suffered from land trafficking and logging, being ravaged almost yearly with fires in a cycle of destruction. Gina saw the area and challenged us to think even bigger and to be unafraid of doing more good. Fast forward from our initial meeting and eventual agreement in 2017, we have now planted over 47,000 native trees in this new reforestation site through the help of visitors and volunteers from all walks of life. Challenges abound when you try to find solutions. But loving this country is about seeing through possibilities instead of limitations. As she has demonstrated through her life, we soldier on. #MaramingSalamatGina ???????? ________ Location: Legacy Trail, Masungi Georeserve #GinaLopez #GinaLopezPH #Gdiaries #BantayBata #BantayKalikasan #iLOVE _______ SHOES BY @TOMSphilippines @TOMS #StandForTomorrow #OneForOne
