In the studio with Sam and Tim Marquez of One Click Straight

The band One Click Straight or OCS prides itself with its “pop and danceable” music.

Formed in 2010 to “look cool and attract the ladies” — at least according to band members Sam and Tim Marquez — the four-piece candy pop outfit changed their focus when they realized their game plan wasn’t working.

Completing OCS are Sam and Tim’s older brother Toffer and “fetus buddy” Joel Cartera, who couldn’t join GMA News Online in the studio because they both had day jobs.

But it’s safe to say whole band is taking this music thing a lot more seriously than when they started.

In 2017, OCS signed with Offshore Music, the music label famously associated with Ely Buendia, and the following year released their debut album “The midnight emotion.”

“I was really impressed with the production and the quality of the sound when they performed,” Offshore Music’s A&R Director Pat Sarabia says.

“The fact that they can really play their instruments — not mindless noodling or shredding. Napagisipan nila taalga every detail and I feel like they’ve really sculpted their songs in such a way to create the best possible sound.”

This year, the band has been included in the label’s recently released compilation, Offshore Vol.2.

GMA News Online joined Sam and Tim in the studio, where they stripped down their single "Manila" into a groovy and chill version.
